Instructions on how to uninstall the beta versions are posted on the beta portal in the Beta and RC Readme files. If there are previously installed versions of any beta software (including Release Candidate (RC) versions) of Autodesk 3ds Max 2016, uninstall and delete all system folders pertaining to these beta versions before installing the commercial version. I’ve had problems with Autodesk software, and their support/tutorials aren’t nearly as helpful as DS.Before an end-user with restricted Windows ® operating system privileges can use Autodesk 3ds Max 2016, an administrator, with full privileges, must install and start the software one time in order to generate the Windows operating system registry information needed to complete the installation.īefore an end-user with restricted privileges can use third-party plug-ins for Autodesk 3ds Max 2016, an administrator, with full privileges, must install and start 3ds Max 2016 one time in order to generate the necessary folders for these third-party plug-ins.

It appears that similar things are happening here.Īutodesk can’t make their own software work with itself… I cannot open an Autodesk Inventor file in Autodesk Maya to render it. When my trial and ran out, and I had to switch to student version, I had to reinstall the entire program. To get inventor to work, I had to install it two times. I’m sure it works fine for a lot of people, but in my personal experience, it’s compatibility and optimization is subpar. It’s free.Īnd I’m not saying it consistently has problems.

Honestly, half of the reason Inventor is as popular as it is here is because of cost. Solidworks is more widespread in the professional environment. Inventor may indeed be terribly optimized, but it certainly wouldn’t be anywhere near as popular as it is if it consistently “struggles to use integrated graphics” and “hates working with anything else.”

Inventor struggles to use Integrated graphics from all my experience with it. In other words, the hardware is more than adequate for running Inventor without freezing, even though it may not be capable of handling more complex assemblies.
